About The Position

5W is seeking a driven Junior Account Executive to join their Corporate & Tech PR practice. This role is a key member of the team, supporting media relations, account management, and reporting across multiple accounts to drive client success. An interest in and understanding of the social media and influencer space is highly valued, as many campaigns integrate traditional PR with digital storytelling. The ideal candidate should possess strong writing and pitching skills, attention to detail, and a passion for PR. This is a hands-on opportunity to collaborate closely with the team, contribute to creative storytelling, and build a strong foundation for a career in public relations. The role will involve working with both B2B Tech and some B2C Tech clients.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. in Public Relations or related field.
  • 1 year of full-time agency experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different platforms and audiences.
  • A proactive, creative, and energetic personality with excellent organizational skills.
  • Positive, flexible attitude with a proactive and curious mindset.
  • Passion for trends and current news.
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for media, social trends, and current news, including the evolving digital and influencer landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Build targeted media lists using platforms like Cision and MuckRack.
  • Capture the attention of national, regional and non-traditional media outlets — including podcasts, radio, and social media influencers and begin forming key relationships.
  • Help craft compelling story angles and media pitches.
  • Track trends and cultural conversations to identify opportunities for client outreach.
  • Conduct proactive media outreach and secure coverage.
  • Monitor, track, and share client and competitor coverage.
  • Play a key role in client management by scheduling calls, drafting agendas and recaps, and maintaining team files.
  • Organize client folders, trackers, and databases.
  • Oversee brand samples and manage inventory when applicable.
  • Coordinate deliveries to media and influencers.
  • Manage logistics for client/team meetings, including check-in, meals, and prep materials.
  • Provide support on events, activations, and mailers.
  • Manage media coverage reports and tracking documents.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring for client and competitor activity.
  • Own the preparation and accuracy of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual client reports.
  • Support program recap reports for events, mailers, influencer campaigns, and other initiatives.
