The Juice Bar Shift Supervisor position is a management-in-training role, requiring confidence, commitment, and motivation to lead staff and themselves towards success. Key personality traits include patience, an even temper, humility, observation, perceptiveness, supportiveness, decisiveness, flexibility, analytical thinking, and consistency, along with being an encourager and teacher. The supervisor must be self-motivated, possess strong leadership, listening, and communication skills, extraordinary customer service skills, applied empathy, and a strong sense of urgency. Responsibilities include maintaining high morale, serving customers to develop and retain repeat business, keeping the Juice Bar department clean and up to Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres standards, and creating a welcoming, warm, and friendly environment. The Juice Bar Shift Supervisor should also be open to growth and expansion within the company.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, or employees of Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres.
  • Ability to speak, read and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to listen to all complaints, suggestions, comments and implement those that work.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and volume.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in such a manner to create a win-win situation.
  • Ability to analyze a variety of situations, think through to a solution and implement the solution.

Responsibilities

  • Leads by example; models correct behavior and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for using the tools provided by management to ensure the success of the department.
  • Required to perform all essential duties of a Juice Bar Clerk.
  • Fills customer’s orders as requested.
  • Makes Juice and Smoothie drinks following Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres instructions & recipes as provided.
  • Operates a cash register following established policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the accurate recording of customer transactions, including the acceptance of payment in accordance with Bristol Farms’ cash register procedures.
  • Responsible for accurate balancing of cash register.
  • Assists with duties and examines work for compliance of policies and procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable of merchandise sold in the Juice Bar Department to educate customers & staff on preparation and use of merchandise.
  • Assists with ordering, receiving, and merchandising.
  • Prices merchandise according to handheld scanner and verifies price against purchase order.
  • Reports/documents price discrepancies and “not on file” items.
  • Processes purchase order for implementation at required deadline.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining all marketing programs.
  • Assists in training & developing all Juice Bar Department employees in product knowledge, suggestive selling techniques, merchandising techniques, & customer service skills on an on-going basis.
  • Assists in conducting inventory, preparing for inventory, and inventory results.
  • Assists in the maintenance of inventory control especially for theft, shrink, & waste management.
  • Assists with the price integrity and proper weights and measures as mandated by California State Laws.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
  • Knows all cleaning chemicals authorized in the Juice Bar Department and understands proper usage.
  • Assists with all Juice Bar Department employees on proper use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Follows the FIFO rotation system (First-in, First-out).
  • Covers, labels, and dates all coffee & products used in department.
  • Utilizes leftover coffee & products before opening new product.
  • Maintains quality and sanitation in accordance with the FDA and local health departmental codes and Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres stringent standards.
  • Follows & enforces safety work standards and reports any safety hazards to the Manager of Service and/or Store Director.
  • Assists with monthly safety meetings and/or distributes monthly Safety News to staff within accordance to Cal Osha SB 198.
  • Documents all meetings/memos/postings and obtains employees signatures as required.
  • Assists with conducting accident investigations and completing all paperwork within accordance to Cal Osha SB 198.
  • Responsible for enforcing Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres established Customer Service policies and guidelines.
  • Serves customers with a smile and willing attitude.
  • Assures high sales through establishing relationships with customers to ensure repeat business & continued coffee education.
  • Listens to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations.
  • Meets and exceeds Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres standards in service, appearance, quality, cleanliness, and leadership at all times.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres policies and applicable laws.
  • Assists with the training of employees.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work.
  • Appraises performance.
  • Rewards and disciplines employees.
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
