What’s on Your Plate: Partners with management in daily supervision of department operations and staff, including customer service, department conditions, merchandising, food safety, work safety, and communication. Ensures the department provides an exceptional customer shopping experience, with the highest level of service and product knowledge. Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Previous food service, restaurant, retail or grocery experience required.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience required.
  • Entry level to high level proficiency with MS Office.
  • Working knowledge with POS, inventory or other retail specific software required.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret documents required.
  • Basic math and computation skills required.
  • Skills to read, understand and follow through on verbal and written instructions.
  • Skills to exercise good judgment at all times.
  • This is a customer service driven position. Should have the ability to speak, read and understand English.
  • Required frequently and up to continuously to be on feet with a mix of standing and walking throughout shift.
  • Continuously required to: lift 1-10 pounds; push/pull 1-10 pounds; use arms, hands and wrists; grasping/squeezing.
  • Frequently required to: lift 11-20 pounds; twist; reach at/above shoulder; reach below shoulder.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high volume environment preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with Juice Bar, cheese, bread and/or pastry products preferred.

  • Oversees department in the absence of department management team.
  • Guides the work of department clerks, including planning and assigning work, ensuring quality standards, training and coaching staff and overseeing their productivity.
  • Partners with department management team to maintain excellent department conditions, including appearance, cleanliness, signage, staffing and service levels.
  • Partners with department management team to execute training programs for all areas of department.
  • Demonstrates ability to adapt approach to different learning styles among staff.
  • Maintains awareness of current ads, promotions, holidays and events.
  • Plans for weekly ads, events and holidays using tools and reports.
  • May participate in other activities, such as inventories, scheduling and performance reviews.
  • Builds displays and arranges department products to make attractive presentations, highlighting featured/unique/seasonal items.
  • Maintains professional vendor relationships.
  • Ensures customer special orders are accurately placed and delivered.
  • Prepares Juice Bar department for store opening and closing.
  • Prepares, cuts, wraps, weighs, tares, prices and presents Juice Bar department products.
  • Stocks and maintains Juice Bar cases, stations and displays.
  • Processes customers’ made-to-order items accurately and expeditiously.
  • Assists with food preparation and production.
  • Understands and complies with specific shift guidelines, tasks and responsibilities.
  • Stocks, rotates and faces products with attention to product quality and expiration dates.
  • Receives and unloads merchandise; checks quality, count and condition.
  • Communicates any issues to management and merchandising team.
  • Maintains accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with products in department and general understanding of culinary terminology, product labeling and common dietary restrictions, with willingness to continue learning.
  • Follows company procedures for processing invoices, transfers and credits.
  • Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy.
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization and rotation of all areas, products and supplies.
  • Notifies department manager or Manager on Duty (MOD) of any situations relating to customer service, safety, productivity, security or any other situation that may have an adverse effect on the store.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
