About The Position

The Judicial Service Officer assigned to Basement Control at the Seminole County Sheriff's Office is a non-sworn civilian role focused on monitoring the closed-circuit television (CCTV) control room. This position is responsible for overseeing inmate movement, managing communication with courtroom deputies, and maintaining logs and records related to inmate activities. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One (1) year of work experience in a position involving extensive public contact or law enforcement related duties preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system and associated terminology.
• Good working knowledge of computers and work-related programs, such as Café, ELIS, Jail Web, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Ability to research, organize, and prepare accurate reports, summaries, and/or tabulations.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other departments, agencies, and offices.
• Ability to communicate verbally in a clear and pleasant manner.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in law enforcement or judicial settings.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems and monitoring procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor closed-circuit television cameras within inmate control holding areas and courtrooms.
• Manage radio traffic for deputies assigned to inmate movement within the Criminal Justice Center.
• Maintain logs, records, and reports of all inmate movement related to the Criminal Justice Center.
• Answer incoming telephone lines and route calls as required.
• Communicate regularly with courtroom deputies and the SCSO Department of Corrections Transportation Section to coordinate the transportation of inmates.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or required.
