About The Position

The Warrants/Bonding Division for the City and County of Denver's, Denver County Court Marshal’s Office is seeking a Judicial Associate I. This position provides support services to the Court, Law Enforcement, and other outside agencies. The Warrants/Bonding Division also operates the Bonding Office that is located in the Downtown Denver Detention Center performing work related to the release and court status of inmates. The Warrants/Bonding Division is responsible for managing all NCIC/CCIC data related to the work of the County Court including entry, validation, confirming and cancelling warrants and protection order for the Criminal, General Sessions, Traffic and Civil Divisions of the Denver County Court. This position performs essential work related to the warrants, protection orders and mittimuses ordered by the Denver County Court; acts as a liaison with Denver jail staff; operates the public-facing Bonding Office and works in collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the criminal justice system, including but not limited to, out-of-county and out-of-state law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, Pre-Trial services, and other municipal, county and district courts. This is an essential personnel position and is subject to immediate recall during major and/or emergency situations. This position requires the employee to work during inclement weather, regardless of the City or Court’s operational status. In the operation of the Bonding Office, this position requires the handling and processing of cash bonds, sometimes in extremely large amounts. Requirements

  • Able to review court documents to determine compliance with relevant and appropriate statutes, rules, administrative orders and/or other governing policies and procedures
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility in scheduling and availability in order to maintain shift coverage
  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a court, law enforcement or legal setting.
  • A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements with the exception of the two (2) years of experience in court, law enforcement or legal setting.
