About The Position

In an effort to strengthen the recruitment and retention of UNF JTR AmeriCorps members, the JTR AmeriCorps Recruitment Member will be dedicated to expanding and building the program’s capacity and their partnering organizations to effectively recruit and retain members. The AmeriCorps Recruitment Member will work with the JTR team to expand community outreach, build social media presence through active posting in coordination with the SCOEHS director of communications, and promote the transformational impact of the program on populations with whom JTR members serve. During the service term, UNF JTR ARM will: Be well-versed on the purpose of the program and its recruitment timelines. Gather and maintain updated information on the application process and timelines for the program. In partnership with program staff, develop a program-specific action plan to diagnose and treat the recruitment capacity building needs of the program. Support program staff in identifying, developing and fostering partnerships to increase outreach to potential JTR AmeriCorps Members. Participate in any Volunteer Florida recruitment initiatives on behalf of the program Attend and actively participate in Volunteer Florida hosted Recruitment Member Meetings Expand community outreach through presentations at colleges and career fairs. Build social media presence through active posting and coordination with the SCOEHS director of communications. Ensure the program’s website is up to date for recruitment purposes. Ensure the program’s service opportunities are posted on Volunteer Connect, and other platforms. Develop other marketing materials for recruitment purposes. Implement strategies to keep AmeriCorps Alumni engaged in promoting national service. Participate in weekly check-in meetings with program staff to set goals and touch base on progress toward target outcomes. Provide follow up information or support to potential candidates or applicants in the pipeline. Analyze data related to [application trends, retention rates] to inform strategy development. Prepare reports and presentations on project progress and outcomes. Contribute to academic papers or presentations related to the project. Complete service-learning training in First Aid/CPR, citizenship development, and disaster preparedness and all additional required training as mandated by the Program or the partner local education agencies; In addition, this member understands that, in order to successfully complete the term of service as defined by the JTR AmeriCorps Program and consistent with regulations of the Corporation for National and Community Service, and to be eligible for the Education Award, he/she must: Complete a minimum of 300 hours of service. Satisfactorily complete the following program requirements: Participate in a minimum of 2 school/community service projects and recruit non-AmeriCorps volunteers; Earn a final satisfactory performance evaluation; Attend JTR AmeriCorps graduation ceremony; Participate in AmeriCorps trainings, professional development, and Life-after-AmeriCorps sessions.

Requirements

  • UNF JTR ARM must be enrolled as a UNF graduate student and must remain in good academic standing to remain qualified for this program.
