Requirements

• Federal Certification as a Junior ROTC Instructor.
• Associate's degree or above - discipline unspecified.
• Retired from the U.S. Army in the grade of Sergeant First Class (E-7) or above.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Instructs Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) cadets at the host high school in Hamilton County, Tennessee.
• Maintains knowledge of academic course material and integrated-curricular activities included in the JROTC program.
• Demonstrates positive personality, physical appearance, and condition to maintain favorable representation of the JROTC Program.
• Presents academic instruction to cadets to meet desired learning objectives.
• Conducts all low-moderate risk adventure training in accordance with Hamilton County risk manager and safety director guidance.
• Performs duties of Color Guard and/or Drill Team Coach when directed by the Senior JROTC Instructor.
• Performs administrative duties as directed by the Senior JROTC Instructor.
• Communicates with parents of cadets in accordance with the Senior JROTC Instructor's policy.
