About The Position

QUALIFICATIONS: Kentucky certificate, US Army certification required. JOB GOAL: To motivate students to stay in school and obtain a High School diploma; to develop the ability to think logically, make decisions, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to develop an insight into the principles and values that underlie good citizenship and leadership; to develop a knowledge of educational and vocational opportunities afforded by the United States Army and other military services. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Teaching classes each day as scheduled. IAW Cadet Command POI. 2. Maintenance of lesson plans, grade books, attendance records, and report student grades to guidance office on prescribed forms. 3. Maintain student records, awards and qualification information, and statistical data as required by 2ROTCR and school board. 4. Property Book Office duties as prescribed in AR 710-2, DA Pamphlet 710-2-1, and Cadet CMD REG 700-1. 5. Requisitioning and receiving supplies, accounting for said supplies including uniform issue, turn-in, and inventory and management of all supply funding. 6. Developing, managing and supervision of ROTC departments, cross-enrolled programs, ROTC extracurricular activities, budget and fundraising. 7. Purchasing and contracting for required services including laundry and dry cleaning, alteration services, supplies, equipment, periodicals, publications, and local purchases as needed. 8. Obtaining and accounting for training aides from TASC, Ft. Knox, Ky., and insuring these items are maintained properly. 9. Obtaining Audiovisual supplies and equipment such as VCR's, films, television, tapes, and related equipment, and accounting for same. 10. Supervision of ROTC extracurricular programs such as Color Guards, Drill team, Rifle team, Rangers, Adventure team, and Orienteering team. 11. Supervision of Drill and Ceremonies training of Cadet Battalion and cross-enrolled JROTC units. 12. Management of the JROTC awards program, assisted by other instructors. 13. Key/Lock custodian duties and security manager duties. 14. Mail and telephone control duties. 15. Submission of required reports for schools, government and U.S. Army agencies. 16. Obtaining teaching supplies from all available sources. 17. Each instructor will insure that all participants in extracurricular activities are adequately insured and have no known medically disqualifying conditions (parent certification). 18. Act as Cadre for 2ROTCR at annual JROTCR summer camp as required. Attend US Army training classes and conferences as required by 2ROTCR and School Board. 19. All instructors will be fully qualified bus drivers in accordance with school system policy/procedures. 20. Evaluate ROTC Army Instructors IAW US Army Officer and Enlisted Evaluation System. 21.
