The JROTC Army Instructor Senior position at Brainerd High School is a full-time role that involves leading the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program for grades 9-12. The instructor will direct, coordinate, and supervise the JROTC program in accordance with the laws, policies, and directives of the U.S. Army, the Hamilton County School System, and the School Principal. The primary goal is to support the maximization of every enrolled JROTC cadet's potential. As a JROTC Instructor, you will work alongside other instructors to provide instruction and leadership for students participating in the program. This role requires participation in school and district-wide professional development and adherence to the educational expectations of the State of Tennessee and Hamilton County Department of Education. The instructor will conduct academic classes during the regular school day, which involves significant organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as a high degree of patience. Additionally, the instructor will supervise extracurricular activities such as drill teams, academic bowl teams, and marksmanship teams, which may include physical training activities after school hours. The JROTC Instructor is expected to maintain a professional military appearance in uniform and comply with Army JROTC weight and body fat standards. In this role, you will be deeply involved in the community and expected to be an ambassador of the military, exemplifying a positive image of the military at all times through professional conduct in both words and actions.
