This position will be part of an interdisciplinary team that underwrites our agent 's health and life insurance business by following established underwriting protocols and guidelines to insure we are applying sound underwriting/actuarial principles toward our wide range of products. This role’s key responsibility will be to make sound decisions in helping GTL achieve their profitability goals while providing exemplary service to our agents and policyholders.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant or transferrable experience, Associate Degree a plus
  • Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well within a team and efficiently manage multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Underwriting experience or Medical Terminology a plus

Responsibilities

  • Act promptly while exercising sound, objective and consistent judgment in making underwriting decisions.
  • Follow established risk classification principles based on sound actuarial principles and/or reasonable anticipated mortality or morbidity experience.
  • Treat underwriting information with the utmost confidentiality and use it for the purposes of evaluating and classifying the risk.
  • Comply with all insurance legislation and regulations as they apply to risk classification.
  • Provide information both written and verbal, and support to sales personnel to help them fulfill their field underwriting responsibilities in selecting risks that would be acceptable to the company.
