Jr. Systems Engineer

About the position

The primary job purpose of the Systems Engineer is to contribute to Systems Design and Testing which includes engineering, implementation, integration, testing, documentation, and aid for both new product development and sustaining. This open position within the Systems Engineering & Test team is specifically to aid developments in Gas Chromatography systems. A strong background in Chemistry is recommended for this position.

Responsibilities

• Forming test plans using provided standardized templates
• Performing test procedures
• Data capture through various methods
• Test reports and summaries using provided standardized templates
• Equipment preparation and lab setup

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or Engineering field with strong background in chemistry or equivalent work experience
• Experience working well in cross-functional teams and demonstrate good communication techniques
• Proactive in devising, planning, and performing test procedures for measurement equipment
• Knowledge of how to perform data analysis, effectively represent data visually through graphs and charts, summarize test results, and compile written reports

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge or practical experience in mass spectroscopy, gas chromatography, and/or optical based measurement, sensors and instrument
• Knowledge of vacuum technology equipment, measurement and applications
• Practical experience with Python scripting, or with other test automation development tools such as LabVIEW
• Experience in agile development teams and environments
