About The Position

The Jr. Systems Administrator supports the maintenance, upgrade, and troubleshooting of a wide range of IT infrastructure, including the Infogenisis POS system, Exchange environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and various casino network components such as firewalls, VPNs, and routers. They assist in monitoring network health using tools like SolarWinds and Splunk, contribute to resolving network and server stack issues, and support Office 365 operations. Working closely with vendors, the administrator helps develop and implement system solutions within a Nutanix and VMware virtual environment, while managing backup systems to meet RPO and RTO standards. Responsibilities also include scripting with PowerShell, maintaining antivirus and security protocols, configuring network switches, and supporting sports wagering systems. This role may also involve fulfilling IT Technician III duties and other assignments as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical training on Microsoft products.
  • Five years of experience in an IT environment for a company of comparable size and IT needs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer software and hardware problems, network setup, and Point of Sale systems.
  • Knowledge of a 24 hour 7 days a week operation preferred.
  • Casino experience preferred.
  • Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of binary and hexadecimal math.
  • Familiarity with multiple operating systems including Linux/Unix, macOS, and mobile platforms.
  • Knowledge of gaming server and network security.
  • Understanding of enterprise software and system integration.
  • Well-versed in Tribal-State Compact regulations and Tribal Gaming procedures.
  • Skilled in customer service, communication, recordkeeping, and database administration.
