About The Position

The Junior Systems Administrator – Advanced Support role is responsible for providing advanced technical support, serving as the primary escalation point for the Desktop Support team, and assisting with the administration, maintenance, and optimization of corporate infrastructure and systems. This position bridges end-user support and systems administration by supporting server environments, cloud infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and enterprise systems while ensuring timely resolution of complex technical issues.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in IT support with exposure to systems administration.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with VMware and/or virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and identity management systems.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Experience with remote monitoring and management tools.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently or with a group
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as escalation point for Desktop Support Technicians on complex hardware, software, and system issues.
  • Troubleshoot advanced endpoint, network, and application issues.
  • Lead support for property onboarding, assumptions, and terminations.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to resolve outages and service disruptions.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions or escalation.
  • Assist with server management including configuration, patching, and maintenance.
  • Monitor and support VMware and virtualized environments.
  • Assist with administration and support of Azure and cloud-based systems.
  • Support identity and access management initiatives including Microsoft Entra.
  • Support endpoint policy management and enterprise configuration standards.
  • Support corporate telecommunications systems.
  • Support system upgrades, maintenance activities, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Maintain system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Participate in implementation of IT projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Desktop Support staff.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership on infrastructure planning and improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
