About The Position

deciBel Research is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support design and development activities for both modeling & simulation and tactical software on a combat system fielding and sustainment effort. Day to day activities include supporting new capability designs within the Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis (MS&A) System-of-Systems (SoS) representative of the fielded combat system, evaluating performance of advanced algorithms for inclusion in the software baseline, contributing to the development of analysis visualization tools, performing updates to threat configuration software, and making updates and fixes to both the MS&A SoS and the tactical combat system software baseline to support sustainment efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related STEM field.
• 2 years with Bachelor's Degree; 0 years with Master's degree.
• Familiarity with modeling & simulation (M&S) design and development.
• Familiarity with tactical software design and development.
• Experience with programming in C++ and Java.
• Experience with scripting in Matlab and/or Python.
• Familiarity with scrum-based Agile software development processes and tools.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes and tools.
• Ability to work full time in a classified lab environment.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in a STEM field.
• Previous DoD program experience.
• Model Based System Engineering experience.
• Mission planning experience.
• Command and Control (C2) and/or Weapons Control Systems experience.

Responsibilities
