About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Server Engineer with 1–2 years of hands-on experience to join our Infrastructure team supporting a fast-growing Dental Service Organization (DSO) with 220+ specialty practice locations across periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. This role provides early-career engineers the opportunity to gain enterprise-level experience in virtualization, Windows Server administration, backup management, and hybrid cloud environments. The Junior Server Engineer will work under the direction of the VP of IT Infrastructure and collaborate closely with Senior Server Engineer, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Telecom, Applications, and Helpdesk teams to ensure high availability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems that directly impact patient care.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in server or infrastructure support
  • Experience administering Windows Server
  • Basic experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Exposure to backup and disaster recovery concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-site environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting distributed or multi-location environments
  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure or hybrid cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with Veeam or other enterprise backup platforms
  • Familiarity with healthcare or dental practice management systems
  • CompTIA Server+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
  • Assist in managing virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi and/or Hyper-V)
  • Monitor server health, uptime, and performance across 220+ locations
  • Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 and Azure AD administration in a hybrid environment
  • Support backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam)
  • Participate in server upgrades, migrations, and new practice onboarding
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure-related incidents and assist with root cause analysis
  • Maintain thorough technical documentation
  • Support security hardening and compliance initiatives
  • Patch Management
