About The Position

The Grace Beginnings Jr. Preschool Assistant Teacher will support the Grace Beginnings Director and classroom teacher with the support of the classroom needs. This role involves facilitating the completion of all the required documentation of daily activities for parents and establishing effective communication strategies with the Director and classroom teacher. The Assistant Teacher will follow the directives of the classroom teacher to maintain high standards in the classroom and provide a safe environment for the children. Additionally, the role includes organizing books, toys, crafts, and other items in the classroom as time allows, and approaching behavioral issues with Christian love, respect, and patience. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is an essential requirement of this position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, Equivalent, or Higher Educational Level.
• 8 post-secondary semester credits in Education or a related field.
• 2,080 hours of experience as an aide working in a childcare facility.
• Commitment to prayer, evidenced in both corporate and personal prayer.
• Exhibit a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
• Exhibit a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry.

Responsibilities

• Support the educational experiences in the preschool classrooms as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Facilitate the completion of all the required documentation of daily activities for parents.
• Establish and maintain effective communication strategies with the Director and classroom teacher.
• Follow the directives of the classroom teacher to maintain high standards in the classroom.
• Provide a safe environment for the children.
• Assist the classroom teacher to maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom.
• Treat each child and family with dignity and respect.
• Organize books, toys, crafts, and other items in the classroom as time allows.
• Approach behavioral issues that arise with children with Christian love, respect, and patience.
• Exhibit Christian values to generate goodwill among management, staff, clients, and the general community.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
• Other duties as assigned.
