About The Position

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers and operations leaders to bring ideas from concept to implementation. This position combines CAD drafting, facility layout refinement, and hands-on technical exposure to help expand and optimize our operations. You will gain valuable experience and hands-on learning while contributing to meaningful improvements in the company.

Requirements

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Architectural Engineering
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of 2D/3D CAD drafting and modeling
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish)
  • Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending, twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GMP, manufacturing, or packaging environments a plus
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD LT drafting best practices and layer management
  • Working knowledge of Fusion 360 modelling and drafting
  • Basic knowledge of facility utility systems (HVAC, compressed air, dust collection, etc.)
  • Understanding of tolerancing (ASME B4.1), GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and tolerance stack-up calculation
  • Familiarity with electrical and pneumatic systems
  • Exposure to machining, welding, and plastic component design
  • Experience with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
  • Working knowledge of 3D printing (Prusa)

Responsibilities

  • Create and refine high-quality CAD drawings, including architectural layouts, elevations, P&IDs, and mechanical assemblies
  • Maintain clear and accurate drawing revision control
  • Visit and assess current facilities to gather information for design
  • Develop familiarity with existing facility layouts, drawings, and utility systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned
