About The Position

We’re looking for a Junior Front-End Developer who’s excited to build, learn, and contribute to digital experiences that connect with real customers. If you enjoy turning designs into clean, functional code and want to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment—this role is for you. The Jr Front-End Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing web interfaces that support United Wheels’ digital presence and customer experience. This role executes front-end development tasks across web platforms, ensuring responsive design, accessibility compliance, and alignment with brand and marketing requirements. The position collaborates cross-functionally with design, marketing, and technical teams while independently managing assigned development workstreams.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Web Design, Interactive Multimedia, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in front-end development or web design
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Experience with Tailwind CSS
  • Proficiency with Figma Dev Mode workflows
  • Experience with responsive design and cross-browser testing
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
  • Understanding of web standards and accessibility guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Translate design files (Figma Dev Mode) into functional, production-ready code
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive performance across devices
  • Perform updates to website content, structure, and functionality
  • Troubleshoot, test (UAT), and resolve front-end issues and bugs
  • Monitor site performance and implement improvements for speed and usability
  • Partner with Marketing and Design teams to implement digital initiatives
  • Collaborate with developers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical challenges
  • Maintain clean, documented, and version-controlled code (Git)
  • Ensure compliance with web accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG)
  • Apply best practices for code quality, maintainability, and scalability
  • Stay current on front-end technologies and recommend practical improvements
