MetaPhase is seeking a Junior Back-End Drupal Developer with foundational experience in server-side web development to join our cross-functional Agile team. In this role, you will support the creation, enhancement, and integration of back-end Drupal functionality, APIs, and data workflows that power a mission-critical federal program.   • Develop and maintain custom Drupal 10 modules, hooks, and services to support application functionality.
  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs and data services to connect Drupal with backend systems and external applications.
  • Configure and optimize Drupal’s backend architecture for scalability, security, and performance.
  • Implement and maintain database structures, queries, and migrations (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration between UI components and backend functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security (NIST/FISMA) and accessibility (Section 508/WCAG) requirements.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving backend performance issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation for modules, integrations, and configuration changes.
  • 0–2+ years of experience in back-end web development.
  • Experience with Drupal module development and PHP programming.
  • Understanding of Drupal’s API architecture, entity system, and configuration management.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with REST API design and integration.
  • Comfort with Git-based version control workflows.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative Agile environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Drupal 9/10 configuration management and Composer.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks for backend code.
  • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
  • Understanding of caching strategies and performance optimization.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI, Jenkins, BitBucket, or Azure DevOps.
  • Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support integration work.
