Job Summary Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Completes programming and implements, tests and debugs defined software components. About the Team: We are looking for a junior software developer to join us to work on a family of software tools that together navigate and enable construction of The Internet: Construction workflow management, network topology, “The Internet” infrastructure changes reporting, operations and more. Skills the team uses: Clojure, ClojureScript, Java, JavaScript, React.js, Re-Frame, Reagent Redis, Kafka, PostgreSQL, HashiCorp stack, AWS

Requirements

• 0-1 years of software development experience, including knowledge of a variety of programming languages – Clojure, Java, Python, but knowledge of Golang or JavaScript (NodeJS) are desirable.
• PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of developing microservices and complex microservice-based platform architectures.
• Understanding of distributed systems, designing for scalability, performance and availability.
• Knowledge of distributed network architectures and network security.
• Good knowledge of data persistence technologies including relational databases and no-SQL solutions.
• Familiarity with agile software development practices.
• B.S. in Computer Science or related Engineering, a Master’s degree is desirable.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Kinesis, Athena, Lambda).
• Good understanding of event-driven development.
• Good knowledge of data persistence technologies including relational databases and no-SQL solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical communication with peers, and non-peers alike, with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Creation, management and operation of a diverse set of microservices and microapplications.
• Definition of common frameworks and software libraries, in various programming languages, that support the creation of efficient, scalable and highly available microservice-based architecture components.
• Support with the management of the running system architecture.
• You will troubleshoot issues and identify areas for continuous improvement with a particular emphasis on quality, performance and security.
• Work closely with architects and technical product managers and other members of your team to translate overall system architecture and product requirements into well-designed, implemented and tested software solutions.
• Work in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software in an incremental manner.
• Help promote the adoption of best-in-class software engineering practices, frameworks, and tools.
• You will provide guidance and feedback to other software developers.
