About The Position

L.K. McLean Associates, D.P.C. (LKMA) is an 80+person engineering and land surveying firm, which was founded in 1950 with offices in both Suffolk and Nassau County on Long Island. We are seeking Junior Civil Engineers with 0-5 years’ experience to join our Team in office locations in both Suffolk and Nassau Counties. As a Junior Civil Engineer, you will assist in the design, development, and implementation of various civil engineering projects in a broad range of engineering disciplines including Highway and Drainage; Site Design; Coastal & Marine Design; Airport Design, Traffic Signal Design, Construction Inspection and Environmental Engineering & Permitting. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or entry-level professional to gain hands-on experience in the field of civil engineering.

Requirements

0-5 years’ experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices
Proficiency in software such AutoCAD and/or Revit -- a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and analysis of civil engineering projects
Utilize software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D to create detailed engineering drawings
Conduct site visits and inspections to collect design data
Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on project plans and timelines
Perform technical calculations, construction costs estimates and engineering analysis
Assist in the coordination of construction activities, including reviewing contractor submittals, providing construction inspection and conducting site visits
