About The Position

The Junior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer supports operational, clinical, and quality initiatives by developing and maintaining standardized reports, dashboards, and datasets. This role partners closely with senior BI developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate, reliable, and actionable data insights while maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in an IT-related role and/or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in data analysis and SQL development.
• Experience working with standardized KPIs, dashboards, and recurring reports to support operational, clinical, or quality performance monitoring.

Nice To Haves

• Epic certifications (Cogito Fundamentals, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model) are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance standardized reports and dashboards using approved BI tools (e.g., Epic Cogito, Power BI).
• Write and optimize basic to intermediate SQL queries to extract, transform, validate, and analyze data from clinical, financial, and operational data sources.
• Assist in the maintenance and support of EDA data models and datasets, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance.
• Collaborate with senior BI developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and clarify data needs.
• Follow guidelines established in HCN IT Consistency Policy, Support Policies and Procedures, and User Code of Ethics; maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Represent the EDA department on cross-organizational teams to support process improvement initiatives.
• Participate in root cause analysis and clearly communicate findings to internal customers.
• Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, software updates, and product enhancements.
• Ensure high-quality EDA support and strong customer satisfaction.
• Partner with IT security and infrastructure teams to support compliance, performance, and data integrity.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
