This position will have the following consideration: Hybrid: In office, currently Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday each week, with the option to work from home on Thursday and Friday. Job Description: The Jr. Accountant / Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for the company's accounting and reporting activities. This role is designed as a development position with opportunities to progress to Senior Accountant based on performance, experience, and business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of prior experience in a corporate accounting and financial environment area a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines required
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized and self-motivated
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and propose corrective action

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with Netsuite is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the company's overall accounting and reporting activities
  • Post cash and non-cash transactions daily to general ledger
  • Prepare monthly close procedures in compliance with GAAP and tax basis
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Prepares audit schedules and audit support for external auditors under the direction of the Controller
  • Prepares month-over-month and year-to-date budget and prior year variance explanations for various reporting packages
  • Analyze expenses to determine proper accruals for each period-end
  • Assist with preparation of the monthly financial statement package, as needed, for stand-alone affiliates
  • Supports team with monthly and quarterly corporate financial reporting tasks
  • Interaction with, Controller, CFO, and auditors
  • Responds to inquiries from the Controller regarding financial results
  • Supports team on ad hoc projects
