About The Position

The position involves performing various accounting tasks related to accounts payable and financial record-keeping within a construction environment. The role is essential for ensuring accurate and timely payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting the Senior Accountant. The candidate will work closely with management and be trained to provide backup support as needed.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a Bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting from an accredited institution.
• Ability to manage a number of different tasks and projects in an organized and efficient manner.
• Excellent work habits to get the job done, especially under pressure from important deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Ability to work on an active construction job site in an office setting.
• Reliable transportation.
• Fluent in English with professional proficiency.

Nice To Haves

• Construction accounting experience.
• Previous accounts payable experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs data entry for accounts payable vouchers, invoices, bills, and expenses to ensure accurate and timely payment.
• Reconcile and prepare subcontractor payment applications.
• Reconcile vendor account statements.
• Establish records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts.
• Enter manual general ledger entries as required.
• Maintain account sub-ledgers.
• Prepare accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department.
• Document and ensure proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies.
• Prepare documentation for contracts, transactions, or regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with the area Senior Accountant to be trained as a backup in their absence.
• Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
