Elizabeth is a great American City. POSITION SUMMARY: This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety & quality are followed and complied with uniformly to reduce product and process variability.
Requirements
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent years of experience preferred
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
- Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and certain areas require earmuffs
- Ability to work in changing temperatures
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs
- Frequent bending, standing, climbing and repetitive hand movement
Responsibilities

- Attendance is essential to perform duties
- Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and trainings
- Always ensure regulatory compliance
- Responsible for handling all tankers that arrive at the site
- Must unload product into the silos
- Responsible for pumping eggs into either silos or pasteurizers depending upon the product
- Handle all chemicals in the tanker and silos
- Responsible for bringing sample products to the micro lab for testing
- Responsible for CIP pump out lines, pickup lines and CIP triple or cooling tubes
- Must disassemble, clean, and assemble production pumps
- Chemically test all solutions and batches in the CIP tank every night
- Responsible for cleaning and CIP of all tankers.
- Responsible for checking with the production supervisor the plans for the next day and coordinating the holdover in the silos
- Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies/procedures and incorporate safety and health in all job duties/tasks
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned.
