About The Position

Reporting to Plant 7 Asset Reliability Supervisor, this position will be required to perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs of manufacturing, packaging, and facilities equipment. This position will also be required to perform other general maintenance tasks as needed including basic mechanical troubleshooting and repair. Responsibilities also include completing general work orders in SAP, interfacing with other technicians across all three shifts in a team environment, machine rebuilding, preventive maintenance and special projects. This position will also be responsible for ordering parts and adhering to a timeline for work completion. There is a possibility that there could be travel involved to other manufacturing and packaging sites within and outside of Allegan.   Journeyman Electrician is preferred; Electrical Apprentice will be considered. This is a single-trade electrical position. The person who successfully bids on this position will be required to complete an 8000 hour Electrical Apprenticeship as well as pass the Journeyman Electrician exam in order to obtain their license.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Demonstrated cooperative work conduct and the ability to work independently. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to meeting schedules and deadlines through good attendance and willingness to work overtime, including weekends, are also necessary
  • Working from ladders, lifts, heavy lifting, and own transportation are necessary and essential functions of the job.
  • Must be able to wear negative and/or positive pressure respirators daily for long periods of time. Must be medically cleared to wear respirators without restrictions.
  • Job will require shift flexibility, for training rotations and to attend classes.
  • Willingness to be mentored by others

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician is preferred; Electrical Apprentice will be considered.
  • Strong computer skills, ability to read and work from blueprints, and good math skills are preferred.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a PIE equipment certification shortly after taking this role.
