About The Position

JOB PURPOSE: Produce construction projects in accordance with instructions from supervisor. REPORTS TO: Foreman / Superintendent DUTIES: Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, rebuilds, constructs, and maintains woodwork and other related structures.

Requirements

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Familiar with a variety of carpentry concepts, practices, and procedures within the carpentry field.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Familiar with tools, materials and supplies required to complete tasks.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
• Directs and leads the work of others.
• Requires standard communication skills (written / verbal / reading).
• Able to lift and hold / move 100 pounds.
• Must be able to solve advanced math principals to produce sufficient problem solving for carpentry.
• Able to traverse ladders (up and down including extension ladder), scaffolding and roofs.
• Must adhere to safety guidelines.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret advanced construction documents.
• Ability to respond to inquires or complaints from supervisors.
• Ability to work with advanced mathematical concepts.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Advanced working knowledge and experience with project plans, specifications, construction industry standards and building codes.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, rebuilds, constructs, and maintains woodwork and other related structures.
• May be responsible for all pricing and ordering of materials.
• Must be able to read plans and specs.
