About The Position

The City of Ketchikan is seeking a Journeyman Wireman/Electrician for the Electric Division. Under general supervision, the successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems for generation plants, substations, maintenance facilities, and other facilities within the City and KPU.

Requirements

• Obtain State of Alaska Journeyman Electrician Certificate of Fitness
• Possess a valid Alaska Driver's License
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 3+ years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical systems
• Performs electrical work in accordance with City and State codes and regulations
• Troubleshoots and resolves electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintains accurate records of work performed and materials used
• Collaborates with other City departments and contractors as needed
