Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Journeyman or Master Plumber

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour, 7-day a week 'skilled trade' maintenance support to the manufacturing, warehouse, and office facilities.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain facility, production and equipment system piping.
  • Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems.
  • Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
  • Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and cutting pipe.
  • Thread and end pipe by hand or with pipe bending machine.
  • Assemble and join piping by means of threaded, chalked, wiped, soldered, brazed fused, or cemented joints.
  • Secure pipes to structure with clamps, brackets, hangers, using hand tools.
  • Test, inspect, replace piping and pressure relief devices on production and facility equipment.
  • Coordinate scheduled work with customers and service providers.
  • Perform building walk-throughs to identify needed repairs and follow up with corrective action.
  • Check, test and replace steam traps as necessary.
  • Maintain facility to ensure reliable and effective operation.
  • Install valves and other plumbing fixtures in restrooms.
  • Have knowledge of underground, sewer lines, draining system.
