About The Position

Since 1970, The Gallegos Corporation has excelled in specialty stone and masonry construction. With our additional services ranging from plaster/stucco, marble/granite, art rock and concrete to stone sales and project design assistance, we are capable of handling projects of any size with superior, timeless craftsmanship. Over the past 55 years, Gallegos has successfully completed projects in 17 different states and currently has five offices in Colorado and Montana. A Mason must be able to work with stone completing custom work on distinctive projects. Masons need to have above average skill and speed in laying stone. A Mason is required to complete work safely, with quality and within productivity specifications as directed by the foreman or superintendent.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years' of construction or masonry experience.

Responsibilities

Shapes stone in preparation for final setting with use of chisels and/or power saws.
Align stone with plumbline and finishes joints with pointing trowel.
Fasten or fuse brick or other building material to structure with wire clamps, anchor holes, torch, or cement.
Mixes and spreads mortar over stone and foundation with trowel and sets masonry in place by hand or with aid of a forklift or crane.
Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as priority on all job sites.
