About The Position

Appleton Electric, a growing metal casting foundry in South Milwaukee, WI is looking for a Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic to join our 2nd shift team. The rate of pay is $29.48. This role performs mechanical duties to keep machines, equipment or the structure of our facility in repair. Your role involves performing mechanical duties to keep machines, equipment and the structure of our facility in repair. You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance functions. Knowledge of motors, air compressors, dryers, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems. Troubleshooting failures on Industrial manufacturing equipment. Perform welding, pipe fitting, and machining, carpentry, plumbing and installation of equipment. Some of the benefits for this position include a $.75/hour shift differential, overtime on hours worked over 8 hours in a day, prorated two weeks’ vacation and up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave. Requirements

  • Completed a State Indentured Mechanical Maintenance apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • Mechanically inclined and have good problem solving capabilities
  • Determine root causes of equipment failures, working with maintenance team and operators
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment when required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all job duties with Safety as a priority and in compliance with Safety Rules.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical failures on Industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Obtains working knowledge of all equipment and supporting functions
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics for machine troubleshooting and installation
  • Repair and troubleshoots minor electrical failures
  • Fabrication of various objects by welding, cutting, bending, heat treating or forming of metal
