As a Journeyman Lineman at Oncor, your duties include the performance of construction and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines and structures in accordance with Oncor Construction Standards Manuals. A Journeyman Lineman shall be proficient in all aspects of line work. Work is done on conductors and equipment energized at distribution voltages using approved protective equipment. This person will be required to work off wood poles, ladders and bucket trucks using approved safety practices and rules.

  • Perform construction and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines and structures.
  • Provide leadership and training for employees in lower classifications.
  • Lead a Crew in the absence of a Crew Supervisor.
  • Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions during both normal and extended working hours.
  • Be available for a regular call out schedule and emergency situations, 24/7.
  • Lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Maintain assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Participate in local safety programs.
  • Act as a first responder during normal working hours and on-call rotation.
  • Report within 60 minutes to the assigned service center.
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of related distribution utility construction work experience.
  • Valid Texas Class A CDL.
  • Proof of successful lineman and safety training programs.
  • Certificate or degree from an accredited lineman school.
  • Associate's degree in electrical technology.
