About The Position

The Journeyman Lineman position at Inland Power & Light Company involves performing skilled electrical work in the construction, maintenance, and operation of the cooperative's electrical transmission and distribution system. This role requires working both overhead and underground, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of electrical services while adhering to cooperative goals and safety standards.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program recognized by the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee and the IBEW.
• Journeyman in good standing with the IBEW Local 77.
• Familiar with WAC 296-45 standards and certified in OSHA 1910.269 training.
• Valid, unrestricted Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• First Aid/CPR card along with flagger's card.
• Knowledgeable and competent in 'Pole Top Rescue.'
• Excellent communication skills and professional appearance.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Strings, splices, transfers and sags wire in energized or de-energized circuits.
• Installs, removes, transfers, maintains and/or repairs cross arms, pins, insulators, and other equipment.
• Routes or re-routes power lines over, under or around existing lines and structures.
• Performs line switching or sectionalizing as directed and emergency repairs under load.
• Inspects lines and equipment for signs of damage or wear and reports deficiencies.
• Assists in on-the-job training of apprentices and other crew members.
• May troubleshoot electrical problems using line testing equipment.
• May trim trees and clear right-of-way in the vicinity of power lines.
