About The Position

As a Journeyman Engineer at JLL, you will operate and maintain all building equipment and systems while performing preventive/reactive maintenance and repairs on all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems owned by the client including air handling units, CRAC units, air distribution equipment, controls, lighting, lighting control systems, kitchen equipment, and general plumbing repairs. This comprehensive facilities engineering role combines technical expertise with operational excellence, requiring you to respond to trouble ticket/work order requests in speedy fashion with positive attitude while composing concise, clear email communication regarding current status of on-going projects and informing JLL team members when appropriate. You will play a crucial role in JLL's commitment to operational excellence by maintaining records, operation logs and files including preventative maintenance logs, tasks, parts inventory, operating procedures, and Methods of Procedures documentation while applying working knowledge and skills in HVAC distribution and controls to make adjustments and corrective actions to resolve work orders, ensure occupant comfort and ensure critical room dependability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent from accredited institution with two or more years' experience in commercial Building Engineering or related field
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with strong customer service orientation and ability to professionally respond to tenant requests
  • Understanding of preventive/reactive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of air handling units, CRAC units, air distribution equipment, controls, lighting, and lighting control systems
  • Ability to respond to trouble ticket/work order requests in speedy fashion with positive attitude and clear communication skills
  • Experience maintaining records, operation logs and files including preventative maintenance logs and operating procedures
  • Working knowledge and skills in HVAC distribution and controls to make adjustments and corrective actions
  • Understanding of facility safety operations in accordance with government and regulatory requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with kitchen equipment maintenance and general plumbing repairs in commercial building environments
  • Knowledge of Methods of Procedures documentation (MOPs) and inspection logs maintenance
  • Background in critical room dependability and occupant comfort management through HVAC controls
  • Experience inspecting facilities on continuous basis and identifying discrepancies with vendor management capabilities
  • Understanding of safety rules and behaviors demonstration with safety hazards and risks identification
  • Knowledge of incident investigations participation and safety enforcement in building engineering environments
  • Experience with SIM Ticket requests generation and related vendors management for repair and maintenance projects
  • Understanding of equipment life cycle tracking and future repair & maintenance projects recommendation.

Responsibilities

  • Compose concise, clear email communication regarding current status of on-going projects and inform JLL team members appropriately
  • Maintain records, operation logs and files including preventative maintenance logs, tasks, parts inventory, and operating procedures
  • Apply working knowledge and skills in HVAC distribution and controls to make adjustments and corrective actions for work orders
  • Inspect all facilities on continuous basis, identify discrepancies, generate SIM Ticket requests, and manage related vendors
  • Safely operate facility in accordance with all applicable government and regulatory requirements while demonstrating safety rules
  • Identify, enforce, and assess safety hazards and risks while participating in incident investigations as needed.
