About The Position

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Journeyman Mission Systems Engineer (Acoustics & Sensors), to support the H-60 Multi-Mission Helicopters Program Office (PMA 299) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will be providing engineering support to the Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) for MH-60R/S helicopter sensor systems and to support the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program. Location: Hybrid/on-site as required. The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to: Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan and design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military aircraft weapons systems, associated support systems. Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems. Identifies, diagnoses and resolves complex engineering issues focused on acoustics and sensors to include but not limited to the AN/AQS-22 Airborne Low Frequency Sonar (ALFS) dipping sonar systems, the Digital Magnetic Anomaly Detection (DMAD), the MH-60R Multi-Spectral Targeting System (MTS), and the Forward Looking InfraRed (FLIR). Coordinates engineering support with NAVAIR’s engineering divisions, external field engineering facilities and test sites to ensure effective program execution. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related to the labor category description is required. Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
  • Must have demonstrated experience with acoustics and sensor systems engineering.
  • Strong background in systems integration, testing, and evaluation of mission systems within a DoD or Naval Aviation environment.
  • Must have experience preparing and reviewing engineering documentation, specifications, and technical risk assessments for acoustics or sensor systems.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
  • Selected candidate must pass a background investigation
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
