About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join their team in Springfield, VA. This role involves performing a variety of electrical trade functions, including the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. The work requires the ability to install or repair various electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment. The individual will work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment, perform standard computations related to load requirements, and use a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. Additionally, the position entails responsibilities related to safety, quality, and procedure compliance within Amentum's framework.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance
Electrical Journeyman's license
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs
TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance

Responsibilities

Install or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment
Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications
Locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment
Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment
Use a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Continuously develop and maintain a safe work environment
Complete all training requirements and fulfill all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities
Participate in emergency response tasks and serve on safety committees and teams
Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts
Read and understand his/her Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities
Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job
