About The Position

W-Industries is an energy service company that specializes in Automation Solutions, I&E Construction Services, Power Generation and Packaged Equipment for the Energy and Industrial markets. Our expertise encompasses the full spectrum of system technologies from pneumatic - hydraulic control systems to state-of-the-art programmable solutions to chemical injection systems, and everything in-between. As a Journeyman Electrician you will plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment for commercial buildings.

Requirements

  • Have the ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Be familiar with electrical tools, wire types, sizing and wire connector types.
  • Work well with others and be able to work alone on tasks that require only one person.
  • Understand how to read and translate the information found within all schematic wiring P&ID’s process diagrams and experience with applicable codes and standards
  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem solver, results focused, self-motivated.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • 1-3 years of experience within the Industrial Field.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in energy, industrial, or construction environments highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment.
  • Possess and maintain required personal tools at all times.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete their assigned tasks.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.
  • Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
  • Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
  • Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints and written instruction.
