The Journeyman Electrician position requires the ability to establish a working relationship with maintenance, production, and management personnel to achieve organizational goals. The role involves understanding the mechanics of working machinery, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facilities. Candidates should also be able to understand and work with work order systems, machine histories, scheduling, warehousing, and related maintenance fields. This position has an hourly rate of $46.51 ($96,740 annually), not including any applicable shift differential, with possible monthly production bonuses based on plant site target goals.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years in an industrial electrician position or comparable training.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficient in ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems.
  • Proficient in ability to maintain equipment and systems.
  • Proficient in ability to operate machinery.
  • Proficient in ability to understand electrical systems.
  • Proficient use of all tools related to the trade.
  • Good communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • State classification as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Experience with PLC and IT communications.

Responsibilities

  • Have a thorough working knowledge of mechanical operations used in the industry and be able to maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot all electrical systems, equipment, and facilities.
  • Possess the necessary skills and aptitudes required to operate maintenance tools and related machinery.
  • Be able to operate all facility equipment to the degree needed for troubleshooting and testing.
  • Assist production personnel to maintain the flow of product.
  • Follow Company lockout, safety, and work standards.
  • Must be willing to attend any training necessary to upgrade performance.
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner so injury does not occur to operator or any employee in the area.
  • Notify supervisor of any problems that arise during the shift.
  • Must be willing to train any employees as assigned by supervisor.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.
  • Must understand the mechanics of working machinery, be able to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and facilities.
  • Candidate should have the ability to understand and work with work order systems, machine histories, scheduling, warehousing, and related maintenance field.
  • Troubleshooting causes of electrical malfunctions in a timely manner.
  • Restoring equipment to proper working order in a timely manner.
  • Correcting any electrical safety problems or potential problems.
  • Installing electrical equipment to NEC standards.
  • Calibrating and testing electrical equipment to ensure reliable and safe operation.
  • Having the ability to install, trouble shoot and repair lighting systems, electric solenoid valves and pumps, electrical sensors, electric motors and switch gear.
  • Working from a ladder or man basket as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and maintain appropriate checklist.
  • Assisting other maintenance personnel as required.
  • Assisting machine operators in determining cause of problems and malfunctions.
