About The Position

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for overseeing and managing the electrical installation and maintenance activities on utility-scale solar construction sites. This role may involve supervising a team of electricians and/or construction laborers. The Electrician is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards and coordinating with other site supervisors to ensure the timely and efficient completion of the project. MUST BE LICENSED IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in solar or renewable energy projects.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electrical work is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical schematics, and a solid understanding of electrical codes and standards.
  • Certifications: Journeyman Electrician License or Master Electrician License, and any relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30).
  • MUST BE LICENSED IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision and Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of electricians or construction laborers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and project progress.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and inspect electrical installations to ensure they meet project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Scheduling and Planning: Develop and maintain work schedules, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, progress reports, and material usage.
  • Communication: Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns.
