About The Position

SUMMARY: Maintains and installs electrical systems in a food manufacturing plant setting. Act at all times in a manner as to comply with good manufacturing practice, food safety, and food quality including: Proper dress code, personal cleanliness, neatness, and follow proper sanitation procedures. Follow all safety rules and procedures. Ensures any reports of food safety, food quality, unsanitary, and unsafe conditions are delt with immediately or forwarded to correct department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following, other duties may be assigned. On the job training available: Must arrive on time ready and able to work. Must wear and maintain all required PPE, replace as needed. Must have an Idaho Journeyman's Electrician's License. Must be familiar with plant electrical systems. Trained or willing to be trained and authorized to perform Lock-out/Tag out in compliance with OSHA Standards. Trained or willing to be trained and authorized in Arch Flash as to comply with OSHA Standards. Trained or willing to be trained and authorized in Confined Space as to comply with OSHA Standards. Willing to accept emergency callouts. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit. Able to pull wiring through conduit. Able to splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches. Relays, and circuit-breaker panels. Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads. Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Repairs faulty equipment or systems. Troubleshoots electrical problems using instruments, diagnostics, schematics, and experience. Troubleshoots electrical problems with the irrigation systems (pivots). KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. As well as statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentage, compute rate, ratio, and proportions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and or practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
