About The Position

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing a variety of journey-level electrical work such as installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the utilization and distribution of electric energy.

Requirements

  • 6 or more years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician, AND
  • Has a current a general or plant journeyman electrician licensure with the state of Oregon (or the ability to obtain Oregon licensure prior to hire) AND
  • Completion of vocational or apprenticeship or equivalent training is required; OR
  • Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.
  • Completion of a vocational or apprenticeship or equivalent training is required.
  • Knowledge of packaging, milling, and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications.
  • Proficiency with job-related tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Possesses effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Ability to follow exact procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to adapt to changes, problems, and shifting priorities.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Use of protective equipment such as welding helmets, safety shoes, safety glasses, and gloves are mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, replaces and repairs lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
  • Tests continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of systems, following installation, replacement, or repair.
  • Troubleshoots and isolates faults in electrical and electronic systems and removes and replaces faulty components.
  • Connects electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signaling devices and heating and cooling systems.
  • Splices, joins and connects wire to fixtures and components to form circuits.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance tasks and maintains accurate maintenance records.
  • Complete and generate work orders in the CMMS
  • Submit and maintain timely and accurate documentation in the CMMS.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to plan and cost electrical projects.
  • Create and submit estimates for projects to the project manager for review and approval.
  • Oversees external vendors to ensure quality and timeliness of work.
  • Ability to complete electrical installations that meet the code requirements and approvals from the County Building Department and the signing supervisor.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
  • Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
