Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to use the NEC code book.
  • Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment.
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot power and control circuits.
  • Ability to bend various size conduits.
  • Ability to program VFDs and PLC is a plus.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or at least five (5) years of experience working in the electrical industry.

Responsibilities

  • Install complete electrical raceways systems such as EMT, RMC, PVC, cable tray, troughs and more.
  • Install wires and cables through electrical raceways.
  • Install panelboards, switchboards, switchgears, MCC, and control panels.
  • Install various forms of switching and receptacle outlet devices.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and controls circuitry and devices up to 480VAC.
  • Install various forms of luminaires.
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).
  • Install motors, transformers, and generators.
  • Install communications, ethernet, and fiber optic lines.
  • Install VFDs, PLC, control relays, power supplies, safety relays, proximity switches, and other instrumentation and control devices.
  • Test electrical systems installation to ensure proper installation and operation.
  • Connect electrical systems to utility power.
  • Participate in continuous safety and electrical education.
  • Travel to different job sites.
  • Work overtime, nights, weekends and or holidays as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
