About The Position

A large hotel job will be kicking off around May of 2026. This position will need to be filled by that time. At Star Electric, we build more than projects — we build careers. We’re looking for an experienced, hard-working Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team and work on a variety of commercial and industrial jobs across Montana. As a Journeyman, you’ll be a vital part of the field team, executing high-quality electrical installations and supporting the success of each project. You will report directly to the Site Foreman and are expected to take ownership of your work, maintain high safety standards, and contribute positively to the crew dynamic. Requirements

  • Montana Journeyman Electrician License (required).
  • Proficiency in commercial/industrial electrical installations.
  • Team-player mentality with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and accountability in all aspects of the job.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Montana for assigned jobs.
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, work on ladders, and perform trade-related tasks.
  • Strong commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and professional conduct.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
  • Experience on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installations on commercial and industrial job sites under the direction of the Site Foreman.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
  • Complete tasks with attention to detail, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support apprentice development by answering questions and demonstrating proper techniques.
  • Ensure all work meets Star Electric’s safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain and care for tools, materials, and job site cleanliness.
  • Coordinate with fellow electricians and foremen to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Travel as needed for projects across Montana (overnight travel required at times; typically, home on weekends).
  • Accurately report completed work and track time and materials used.
