About The Position

CACI is looking for a Journeyman Electrician to provide technical support at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) for the electrical maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of industrial-level test equipment, fixtures, and facilities in support of the Test and Evaluation of Department of Defense (DoD) ship systems. More About the Role Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of basic low voltage electrical systems and electronics components. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades to high voltage electrical system and related peripheral equipment. Prepare facilities for tests and assist engineers as directed. Operate test facilities and test equipment during the conduct of scale model tests. Assemble mechanical and electrical parts and systems by performing preventive maintenance and/or repairs. Install conduit, cable, wiring, transformers, circuit breaker panels, sub panels, lighting fixtures and networking equipment. Correct deficiencies found during scheduled maintenance of test facilities and respond to emergency breakdowns.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Certification, Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, or trade school diploma
  • Able to demonstrate experience performing work on circuits up to 2400VAC.
  • Experience with bending and fabrication of electrical tubing.
  • Functional ability with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to understand standard policies and procedures and be able to work and communicate well with others in a team setting.
  • Detail oriented with a flexible and collaborative approach to problem solving in line with policies and procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an DoD Secret Clearance
