About The Position

The Journeyman Electric Line Worker position at CDE Lightband involves skilled work in the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical service distribution systems. The role requires independent judgment and initiative while working under the supervision of a Foreman and General Foreman. The position is full-time, with a work schedule from Friday to Sunday, and includes responsibilities such as installing, repairing, and inspecting electrical systems, as well as training Apprentice Line Workers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Five years of experience in electric distribution line work, including completion of a five-year line worker apprenticeship program approved by the DOL.
• Completed Apprenticeship Training to receive Journeyman Standing.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of construction tools and methods for electric transmission and distribution.
• Familiarity with electric utility operating methods and safety regulations.
• Customer service skills and experience in troubleshooting complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs electric systems, including overhead and underground distribution lines.
• Climbs utility poles to perform work safely and in compliance with safety requirements.
• Operates various vehicles safely, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Attends regular training and safety meetings as required by CDE Lightband and regulatory agencies.
• Monitors and maintains inventory of parts and equipment, notifying supervisors of low levels.
• Responds to and resolves customer complaints, explaining programs and policies.
• Prepares and maintains operational reports and paperwork, including safety reports and work orders.
