About The Position

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Journeyman Computer Systems Engineer specializing in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Adaptiva to support a mission-critical U.S. Coast Guard program. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining MECM environments integrated with Adaptiva for optimized content delivery and endpoint management. This position will be located in Kearneysville, WV and will be a hybrid position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years (or commensurate expertise).
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance
  • Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+)
  • Experience: 5+ years of direct experience leading or supporting MECM and Adaptiva projects in a large environment.
  • MECM Expertise: Hands-on experience managing MECM environments in enterprise settings.
  • Adaptiva Integration: Experience integrating Adaptiva with MECM for optimized content delivery.
  • Windows Server Administration: Strong understanding of Windows Server platforms (2012–2025) and core services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS).
  • Imaging and Deployment: Experience with Windows imaging, task sequences, and driver management.
  • Virtualization: Familiarity with VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
  • Documentation: Skilled in creating clear, detailed documentation for system configurations and operational procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DoD or U.S. Coast Guard environments
  • Microsoft Certifications: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
  • Cloud Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
  • Networking: Understanding of load balancing, network infrastructure concepts, and content distribution challenges.
  • Communication: Ability to write and present clear reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain MECM environments for enterprise endpoint management.
  • Configure and optimize Adaptiva OneSite for content distribution and endpoint performance.
  • Develop, test, and deploy software packages, updates, and patches using MECM and Adaptiva.
  • Create and maintain task sequences for automated OS deployments and upgrades.
  • Ensure endpoints comply with organizational security policies and standards.
  • Troubleshoot MECM and Adaptiva-related issues, including client health and content distribution.
  • Develop PowerShell scripts and automation solutions to streamline endpoint management tasks.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate and analyze reports on software deployments, compliance, and system health.
