About The Position
Lawelawe Defense Inc is seeking an experienced Journalist fluent in Portuguese to join our team. As a Native Hawaiian Owned Small Disadvantaged Business (NHO SDB), we specialize in providing a range of services to federal government clients, including program management, digital solutions, human capital and training, and medical staffing. Our mission is to uplift economically disadvantaged Native Hawaiian families and preserve the Native Hawaiian heritage while delivering exceptional service to our clients. In this role, you will play a crucial part in content development, interviews, photography, and editorial review of materials. You will be responsible for maintaining situational awareness of United States policy and events in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility, ensuring that all site content is approved and meets high customer satisfaction standards within budget constraints. As a Journalist, you will contribute to periodic reviews and reports as requested by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). You will also advise customers on emerging web trends and monitor the growth of internet technologies within the SOUTHCOM area to recommend technological improvements to websites. Your expertise in web metrics and social media will be essential in producing coordinated content selection for websites, ensuring that our communications are effective and engaging. This position requires a strong understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices and website analytics, as well as exceptional writing skills and a passion for storytelling. You will be expected to conduct interviews, research topics, and contribute story ideas while meeting deadlines and breaking down information clearly for the target audience.
