About The Position

The JTAC Team Lead is responsible for the execution and management of Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) training support operations at Hancock Field in accordance with the MQ-9 Aircrew Training System (ATS) Performance Work Statement (PWS). The Team Lead oversees training activities conducted in classroom, simulator, and operational training environments and ensures training events are executed in accordance with current Close Air Support (CAS) doctrine, FTU syllabus requirements, and program training objectives. This position may be full or part time. The Team Lead provides operational leadership to JTAC Training Specialists and supporting personnel and ensures accurate mission execution and effective delivery of training support.

Requirements

  • MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN
  • Education: Vocational or other post-high school training.
  • Training and Experience: Required Minimum five (5) years combined active duty and/or contractor experience as a certified or qualified JTAC.
  • Previously qualified JTAC Instructor, or completion of a Government-approved JTAC Team Lead training program.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Close Air Support (CAS) doctrine and procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of the training support requirements described in the MQ-9 ATS Performance Work Statement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead operational training teams and manage training execution.
  • Must have a valid US driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Security Clearance: Must maintain a “Secret” level security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-September 11, 2001 deployment experience supporting combat operations.
  • Experience supporting operational FTU training environments.
  • Experience coordinating training events involving JTAC personnel and aircrew.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage JTAC training operations conducted in classroom, simulator, and operational training environments.
  • Supervise JTAC Training Specialists supporting training events and mission execution.
  • Ensure training activities align with the FTU syllabus and current CAS tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and execute training events supporting CAS, ISR, and related mission training scenarios.
  • Ensure proper management and use of training equipment associated with JTAC training operations.
  • Oversee scenario execution and ensure training realism and operational accuracy.
  • Coordinate with government leadership to support operational training requirements.
  • Provide operational guidance to training personnel to ensure accurate mission execution and compliance with training objectives.
  • Participate in operational training events and exercises as required to support mission training.
  • Safely operate motor vehicles.
