Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking a skilled Joint Force Operations Planner with Space Domain expertise to support mission engineering and analytic efforts informing future technology and capability investment decisions within the Planning, Programming, and Budgeting Execution (PPBE) process. You will provide mission engineering, analysis, and integration expertise to evaluate legacy architectures and emerging technologies applied to new concepts of employment to support future joint force capability development, with a specific emphasis on space domain integration. Work Location: Onsite: Alexandria, VA. Travel: Less than 10%

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Management Science, Physics, or related technical discipline
  • 7 years of experience supporting mission engineering, systems engineering, or operational analysis within the defense sector.
  • 5 years of experience supporting mission planning and analysis, including development or evaluation of mission threads, operational plans (OPLANs), Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), Concepts of Employment (CONEMPs), and defense systems
  • 3 years of experience collaborating with engineering teams, operational planners, and technologists across organizations such as the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Military Services, Intelligence Community, or Office of the Secretary of Defense.
  • 3 years of experience applying modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) techniques to support operational planning, system performance analysis, or mission design.
  • 2 years of experience supporting joint operations, combat systems, R&D, science and technology programs, or mission planning activities within the military or defense sector.
  • Strong analytic skills and the ability to apply structured analysis in complex, multi-tasking environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in collaborative team environments.
  • Top Secret required, SCI eligible

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience supporting USSPACECOM, Space Force planning staff (HQ USSF or Deltas), Combatant Command staff, Joint Staff, or Service Staff integrating space capabilities into operational planning.
  • 3+ years of experience producing strategic writing products such as space-focused CONOPS, CONEMPs, or intelligence threat assessments.
  • Knowledge of DoD and Intelligence Community organizations and processes, including space domain awareness (SDA) and contested space operations.
  • Expertise in one or more areas including Space Systems Operations, Orbital Warfare, Electronic Warfare, Cyber Warfare, Cyberspace Effects Operations, SIGINT, GEOINT, or Targeting Analysis.
  • Experience supporting Space Force planning documentation, force design activities, or operations within a Space Operations Center (SOC).
  • Experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or modeling and simulation techniques to space architectures or orbital analysis.
  • Experience serving as a Combatant Command or Joint Staff J5/J3 planner with responsibility for space-related planning portfolios.
  • Experience supporting JSCP or GFMAP development.
  • Experience leading planning teams or battle rhythm events during major staff exercises incorporating space operations.
  • Graduate of an Advanced Warfare Planning School such as SAMS, SAW, JAWS, MAWS, or SAAS.
