You’ll focus on: As a John Deere Tech Intern, you will participate in both on‑campus training at NDSCS and hands-on dealership work experience as required by the John Deere Tech program. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to obtain DOT medical card if hauling equipment is required
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of methods, tools, and techniques used in agricultural or power equipment repair
  • Fundamental knowledge of engines, hydraulics, powertrains, air conditioning systems, and electrical/electronic systems—as introduced and developed through the NDSCS curriculum
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic or testing purposes
  • Ability to use basic computer functions (aligned with NDSCS Computer Literacy coursework)

Responsibilities

  • Completing ACT and program entrance requirements for NDSCS
  • Visiting and enrolling at NDSCS for the John Deere Tech Program
  • Performing basic service and maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Developing skills in the removal, disassembly, repair, and reconditioning of equipment components
  • Participating in John Deere EDUCATE and dealership training programs to build technical knowledge
  • Supporting service department operations while gaining real‑world diagnostic and repair experience
  • Following safety procedures and wearing required uniforms and PPE (aligned with NDSCS program policy)
